I understand that it takes courage to be here looking for a counsellor.
I know that it's difficult, often confusing, and it hurts- sometimes more than you think you can bear. You might be feeling like you don’t know where to turn. You don't have to deal with it alone; I would love to work with you. You might be feeling something like:
I don't know what to do anymore. Nothing seems to work.
I just feel lost and alone in this. No one seems to understand what I’m going through.
I want to get help. I really do. But I don't know where to start, and I'm afraid if I start crying, I'll never stop.
As a counsellor, I get to see people make sense of their past, feel hope and excitement about their future, and have renewed confidence in their ability to navigate whatever comes their way.
I work with anxiety, depression, anger issues, relationship conflict, chronic illness, grief & loss, divorce & major life transitions, concussion, parenting difficulties, self-harm, and anger management.
I also specialize in ADHD and how it can show up for adults, couples and parents. If ADHD is part of your world, maybe you are thinking something like:
About myself
I know I’m smart, but I can’t seem to get it together. At least not for very long.
I sometimes feel overwhelmed with so many things on my plate, but as soon as I have any space, I feel depressed.
I know I shouldn’t get so angry! I know I hurt people I really care about, BUT something just clicks, and the words start coming out.
About my partner
My partner is so intense. It seems like everything is either fantastic or terrible, and the roller coaster is so tiring.
My partner forgets our plans, loses stuff and breaks promises all the time. I’m so tired of feeling like they don’t care about me.
About my child
I love my kid, but they are exhausting! Nothing is easy with them.
They said my kid has ADHD and can’t focus on schoolwork, but they can play video games all day and night. I don’t understand.
If any of this resonates with you, and you want strategies for working with ADHD rather than against it (or trying to control it), make an appointment.
